The historical cross vault of the Michaelsberg in Bamberg is home to the Franconian Brewery Museum.
Here you find a brewing and cooling chamber, fermentation and cooling cellar, a mash tun and a cooperage. The museum has about 1000 pieces on exhibit and provides a thorough documentation of the beer brewing history in Bamberg. You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about brewing beer and the equipment used in the process.
The museum building was first mentioned in a written document in 1122. At the time, it was used as a brewery. What better place could there be to learn about the process of beer making, from growing the barley to the final product?
